Unforgettable Luxor: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Adventure

Incredible hot air balloon ride over Luxor West Bank overlooking the nile. Our pilot was entertaining, knowledgeable and a very experienced pilot. Smooth flights. Only “negative” part what that there was poor communication when we arrived at the launch site - we stood around waiting to start, and our sunrise flight was delayed until after the sun was already up. Only once we were in the hot air balloon did the pilot explain that they were asked to delay the flight due to poor flight conditions early in the morning as well as traffic at the launch site - all reasonable, but it would have been nice to have had this explained to us while we were standing around waiting to start our trip.

Bucket list. Amazing. Massively exceeded expectations. Even if the begging felt a bit confusing, they find organizational in the caos. Just go with it.

Watching the sunrise over the Valley of the Kings and Queens amongst the company of 50 or so balloons is an incredible experience; a real visual feast. It was an extremely slick operation to get so many balloons dispatched and collected simultaneously. Our pilot was confident, skilled and humorous. We did have some anxiety about safety and this could have been improved. There was no safety briefing other than a few shouted words about how to land safely once we were onboard, lost amongst the sound of the heater; men sat on the balloon fabric ahead of lift off, using it as an improvised picnic style rug; and there were 32 of us in our basket. However, despite this, I felt that our pilot knew what he was doing and indeed, the trip seemed perfectly executed, with a feather light landing. So we were glad that our fears didn’t stop us taking the ride.

Unfortunately the ballooning was cancelled due to the bad weather. Fortunately, we received our refund the same day. Well done!

Great time in the air. But I hated waiting 1h30min in the logistics tour to collect all the participants. I recommend getting 1h extra sleep and paying about 60EGP with InDrive for your own direct transport. On site toilets are 20EGP Coffee is expensive and tastes bad. Depending on where you land, I recommend chaining up with a local breakfast and temple visit. We liked Medinet Habu after.

So amazing!!! Felt like we were floating in air and over the Valley of Kings was great. An experience of a lifetime. Abduhla was our amazing guide and did a great job organizing the groups and Captain Ali was amazing. Very punctual.

Very pleasant experience! We were picked up and dropped off smoothly, and had a knowledgeable guide who explained the entire process and even took some great background photos for us. Would definitely recommend!
